One piece of wood.  Handle acts as a hook for hanging.  Almost like a large dipper.  There are signs of paint, but it is long gone.

The bottom has the initials OH or HO.  Signs of primitive turnings and carving on the inside, decorative turnings on the outside with signs of hand carving near the handle. 

The bowl has a 7 1/2 inch diameter and 10 1/2 inch with the handle included.  It is 3 1/4 inches high.  Very unusual piece, from Norway.
